After studying violin and clarinet at the Royal Academy of Music, I had a wide range of experience as a violinist, from playing as an orchestral leader and as a soloist in classical programmes to light music broadcasts with the BBC. I’ve worked with numerous orchestras, including the BBC Concert, Royal Philharmonic, Welsh National Opera, Brighton Philharmonic and played for London City Ballet and visiting international ballet companies. Television work has included diverse programmes from the Proms and Songs of Praise to Top Of The Pops and backing music for advertisements.
As a member of the BBC Radio Orchestra, I worked for Radio 2 until the orchestra was disbanded in 1990 and following a busy freelance career, then held the solo violin chair in the London West End production of the musical Blood Brothers for more than twenty years. I now give private violin tuition in Market Harborough.
